Our Mission

URVT’s mission is to:

* Assist victims of torture by providing multidisciplinary treatment and rehabilitation services

* Raise public awareness of issues concerning torture and rehabilitation

URVT’s integrated treatment approach encompasses a full range of services including medical treatment, psychological support, legal counseling, and other social services. URVT works closely with a network of volunteer service providers, medical professionals, language and cultural translators to help victims of torture and their families rebuild their lives. URVT has treated 107 victims since its establishment. Please note that although the first grant from the European Refugee Fund (ERF) was given in June 2006, this initial grant aimed at the establishment and training of its staff. The actual operation of URVT started with the second ERF grant given in January 2007.
